The Mission Objective

The mission objectives of this 1900 class plan is to teach Fairfax County History during the year 1900,  or at least a small part of it.  It is also to familiarize foreign students in their search to learn more about American history.  Through the exercises presented in this lesson plan,  these objectives hopefully will be acheived.

The exercises in this lesson plan,  written by Shannon Bridget Murphy,  explain county history through reconstruction.  Through the stories of those in the mystery,  Fairfax County,  Virginia history in the year 1900 is explained in a way that all grade levels understand.  By puttting the excercises that have been given into practice,  experience can be gained and comparisons made between the year 1900 and today.

A New Century

Mondays are always good days to start over.  This was no exception to the beginning of the new century in 1900.

There were 45 states at the beginning of 1900.  Hawaii became a US Territory on June 14,  1900.
